So This Is Christmas

The time has come and as with every year I rush to shops to spend my hard earn dollars buying gifts and food and generally attempting not to be caught up in the consumerism and over indulgence breed into us from an early age...

As I get older and my children also grow up it does get easier....

There are so many different cultures here in Oz it can be tricky when visiting friends who do not celebrate Christmas to know what to do....

Do you send a card?
Do you Give their child a gift?
Invite them to Lunch on Christmas Day?

We tend to invite them to celebrate the Spirit of the Day not the religious tone of it... and celebrate the more Pagan aspects of it as in time with family friends the sharing of meal and general good times... We do make an effort to imcorporate the various cultures of our friends into this special day and our friends also bring with them some of the traditional eats and drinks.... so it becomes a multicultural banquet of sorts....
Do you celebrate Christmas?
And how do you celebrate....
What are your Traditions?

What the Bleep!

For a several months people have been talking referring too and apparently using the lessons taught in books such as The Secret and movies like What the Bleep! They all tend to speak about the power of the self and the mind, to create the lifestyle they believe they deserve....
So do you follow these beliefs or some others.... do share

Whats God Got to Do with It?

Everywhere I turn these days somebody is preaching. I find this both annoying and highly invasive. If I wanted to talk Religion I would go to an appropriate place not the local shopping Centre.
Where have all the Mormans gone I haven't had a knock at my door for ages?

I found them at the local Woolworths shopping centre handing out leaflets, is nothing sacrid anymore, I would think a casino would be more appropriate place to preach family values, Other than a shopping centre 6 weeks before Christmas when you are dragging 3 screaming kids through the shops and have just had one of them throw up on you and you only just arrived... oh! yes I am going to stop and talk about God! NOT.

So do you agree there is a time and a place for this or is anytime a good time?

When is a religion a Cult

Recently news reports have come out claiming a Religious group made contributions to the Australian Federal Government Election Campaign during the last election...

This is something which most Aussies find difficult to except. The seperation of Church and State has always been something taken for granted here. However these days the divide between the two is closing. Christian groups are becoming more and more of a tool to be used within the election campaign. The growing numbers of people involved in such groups is immense.

While eager to show the country what good Christian citizens, they are Australia is fast beginning to alienate a large selection of the community. Our politicians while having beliefs in what ever faith they choose should keep it at home and religion should not have a place in Government.....

With in Parliament we have Christians, Muslims, Buddist and people from many forms of religion the difference this time around is we are being told what their faiths are....

The group which made contributions to previous election campaign has the reputation of being somewhat of Cult.... A closed door Christian Group.... who puts fences around their churches, blackened windows on their car etc. It is very secretive.

Does a Politicans Personal religious faith sway your voting, does it matter?

So is this form of Secret Worship what defines a cult or is their more to it?

I ask you What are the differences between a Cult and a Religion?

True Friends wouldn't treat you this!

Resent times are leading more and more to the opinion people really don't really care..

Over the past few months I have seen a side of my friends and people in general which I am finding disturbing.....
When I and my friends were not working, we would help each other with odd jobs, talk, discuss issues of importance the climate, education, religion etc. No subject was left out.
As my friends have returned to the work force and the money started to roll in, I am seeing a side of them and friends of theirs which is sad.

My friend would come over for coffee, whine and complain about her partner and how lazy, thoughtless and generally unmotivated he was.... he liked not working, spending time with her and the children and the freedom to take his time, he would help out around town and always the first to a lend hand when need arose. She eventually nagged and bullied him and he is working again, which is a good thing, however she is still whinging and complaining about his lack of anything she can think off. So the other week I was over having coffee, feeling very down, business being slow was taking its toll on the mind, stress and worry and all things that go with it... so out of character I thought my turn to unload some of anxiety and try and feel better, get a little helpful advice etc....
This so called friend sat listened and said 'well if it is a loan you want I can lend it,', that is not what I was talking about, paying the bills was not the issue just feeling stressed and strung out...business is slow and clients not paying on time is...
then she says: "I am thinking of leaving my part-time job to spend time at home it is not as if we need money...." Hmmmm I am thinking so what part of this conversation did I miss, she goes on, "come inside and have a look at what I just bought a new sewing maching, coffee maker, and all this wonderful material to make curtains for the house" soon after with the temper building and the indignation rising we left....before I said something I shouldn't.

A few days later we were visiting again helping with a job, things had settled down and I had regained my normal temperment, she starts going on about her hubby spending money ...
"he went shopping and bought all this stuff, .... I am so cross with him...... he knows we are trying to save .......do you like the new tv table it was special..."
hmmmmm once again the little voice is banging in my head time to go time to leave, but the job wasn't finished and my partner was still helping her hubby, so I let the comments wash over me.....
about 15 minutes later.....
friends of theirs arrived to say Hi! What followed was a revelation to all of us..
The Friends arrive and are invited in for coffee, we were not,
they chatted for about 20 minutes, we were not introduced, nor we were not included in the conversation, in fact we were ignored totally and left outside,
their youngest child stopped playing with our child and went to see them and play with their kids and also ignored....
After about 25 minutes they were leaving, we heard them ask do you need a hand, to which the reply was oh no they can take care of it, but thanks for asking.... my partner just looked at me... they left....
I looked at my watch with blood boiling at being treated as hired help, servants even and told them we had to go it was getting late and I things to do.... they would have to finish themselves and then she proceded to get he purse and pay us for what had been a favour...... We told her it was required or wanted and we were leaving...

All the conversation with my friends seem to be about, how much money they can spend, how annoying each other are, and what useless thing they are planning to buy next, look at how wonderful we are....
They seem so self obsurbed and thoughtless in all respects.... is this the way the world is going?
To have a meaningful conversation is just chore their views have on everything subject become so materialistic and shallow it is hard to comprehend.
These days I keep to myself and really do not have the time or energy to waste on people like these, but it appears to be everywhere.
So tell me have you found the same experience in people you know, is the world changing or am I alone in thinking the world of Man has become a sad place.

Are You God Fearing?

This post is a bit of a question more than my usually statement type posts.

I want to know are YOU GOD FEARING?

Do you really fear God and why?

I have spoken to Priests and Ministers of various faiths and the one thing they all say in response to "tell me about God" is

God is all Seeing!
He is all knowing!
God cares deeply about each and everyone of us
God answers the prayers of those who ask
And He is a Merciful God
So when I ask them about themselves in their faith the response is:
We are God Fearing men and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ

So forgive my possibly silly if not even blasphemous questions, but tell me

If God is all seeing, all knowing , cares so much for each and everyone of us, answers the prayers of those who ask and is oh! so Merciful WHY are you afraid of them?
Why DO you follow the Teachings of Jesus, who regardless was a Man yes granted he was the son of God, but we are also taught through the Bible that we are all Gods children, and why are people of faith so quick to judge the opinions of those who choose to ask questions like these?
I happen to think God or Universal spirit what ever you call them, is more of an observer.
Yes! when an occasions arises and they/he are feeling generous, they/he do answer questions and prayers, but otherwise it must be like watching a multi channeled Television.
If you want to see a beautiful place look at the Jungles or the ice capped Poles, want to watch a soap opera look at the western world, want to see a war look at the middle east, if you want to watch suffering and hardship look at the starving masses and finally to see violence and suffering and things that would make your hair stand up on end look at Africa and the cradle of civilisation.
A God who cares and takes an active role in the lives of each and everyone of us would not allow this to happen to their loved ones, would you let it happen to your family.

It is a bit like, we are given free will and the ability to choose, the rest is up to us..... from time to time we are given a helping hand or a nudge in the direction God may wish us to take, but then it is left to us to use it or not......

What do you think?

Oh and yes I understanding some of you will say "oh you will Burn for this one!"

But I think God gave us this questioning mind to use and understand the world around us and would understand I am using what I was given to do that with....

Have you SEEN an Angel?

It doesn't seem to matter how old you are, what nationality or religious belief you have, you can see an Angel. Stories have been around for hundreds, if not thousands years regarding visitations of these winged beings. Some are beautiful and fill you with the most peaceful, inspiring feelings imagined, while others are nasty horrible creatures that give the viewer immense feelings of despire. I see this as the balance of good and bad, holy and evil etc....

But what is this about?

Why do people who have no apparent link to Christianity, see Angels? They are after all a representation of the Christian faith, or are they.
So many things we in Christian Society take for granted have their origins on old religions such as Paganism, Christmas and Easter to name two. Images and characters we commonly associate with the Bible also started in this old faith. Characters such as the Devil have for 2000 years been modeled on the image of the Green Man from ancients religions.

Demons such as the Incubus and Succubus have their origins in times well before Christianity.

One of the earliest mention of an incubus comes from Mesopotamia on the Sumerians king's list, ca. 2400, where the hero Gilgamesh's father is listed as Lilu. It is said that Lilu disturbs and seduces women in their sleep, while Lilitu, a female demon, appears to men in their erotic dreams. Two other corresponding demons appear as well, Ardat lili, who visits men by night and begets ghostly children from them, and Irdu lili, who is known as a male counterpart to Ardat lili and visits women by night and begets from them. These demons were originally storm demons, but they eventually became regarded as night demons due to mistaken etymology.
These things were absorbed by early Christians in order to give local villagers, who followed the Old Ways, an easier transition to the new faith. Christmas and Easter where given their timings to fit the villagers feasts and festivals. The Gods and Goddesses of the old ways where given new Christian names and the images merged into the new faith in order to make it all so much less confusing for the average person.

But the Christan faith is not alone, through all religions you can see merging of the Old Ways into new faiths, Islamic, Judaism, Hindi, Buddhist, and all other mainstream religions. Even today with the emergence of new variations on the Christian faith such as Pentecostal Churches, How this works, The Bible or instruction manual is read and meanings taken and interpreted in a manner which suits the reader and the flock of followers.

Why is it then we expect only Christians to see Angels.
Winged beings have had a place in society since time began, heard of a fairy?, the only difference is the ability of the participant to explain what is was for example:

A child raised in a Christian home who sees a ghostly figure, with wings and a glowing light would say they saw an Angel, but a child raised in Paddock, herding Mountain Goats in the Himalayas seeing the same thing would have a completely different view, to them it could be the mountain spirit, a demon, an ancestor....

So are Angels merely the brain and eyes playing tricks?

Are they from some Parallel dimension?

Do they exist only in fantasy?

Do Angels exist?

Why do we Love them so Much?

Are they truly sent by God and if so why are they dismissed as fanciful and fake?

After all Millions of people believe in a God they have never seen why should Angels be dismissed after all they are supposed to be his messengers.....

Real UFO Photos

Time to take a slightly different path....
I do think it is time....
I have had some rather interesting images sent to me from a friend and have decided to share them with you.... Although the photos have been enhanced to show the objects more clearly, they are otherwise untouched.....
The objects did move across in varying patterns, not the straight line seen in satelites, and aeroplanes.

The first shows the objects in relation to the moon.

What are they?

Any ideas?
Taken at the last eclipse, the images show something moving around in the sky.
No not a plane, nor are they satelites.
They are UFO's in the strick sense of the term.... Unidentified (we don't what they are), Flying (well they are in the sky), Objects (they certainly are something)
So what do think? are these images of spy planes, alien craft, or something else?

Just to top it off : This photo was taken on the same night..... in the USA

buddhist monks run wild

I recently viewed a program on ABC television station here in Australia called 'Compass', yes I watch a lot of the ABC. The program deals with religious and social issues through out the world.

The topic which caught my eye was on 'Radical Buddhist Monks' in Sri Lanka.

This statement is conundrum within itself.... Buddhism is probably the religion furthest from radical fundamentalism of any in the world today.

But they it was, Buddhist monks ransacking catholic churches, tormenting villagers, setting fire to churches, and generally causing mayhem in the communities.

Although these events have been condemned by the leaders of the Buddhist faith the events are still going on.....

So is this a sign of the times, religion and faith going horribly wrong, or is it more to do with fear and persecution that these aspects of human nature are coming to fore.....

What do you think?

I want your Ghost Stories

Do you believe in Ghosts?
Have you had a strange encounter you just cant explain?
Do you have a story you have heard
I want to hear it tell us what happened?

People believe in all sorts of things, but just because something can not be explained or scientifically proven, does not make the experience any less valid.
Heres one of mine:

I used to live in a house with a ghost, well I think it was, as I never saw it, however we heard most nights walking from the main bedroom up the hallway to the lounge room doorway, where it would stop.
The footsteps where not soft by any stretch of the imagination, they where the sound of heavy boots on timber floor boards, but the area was carpeted.
One night when we had friends staying over with their kids. During the night, one of them woke up screaming, not a nightmare scream, a terror scream parents would understand the difference, we where in the lounge room.
We settled the child, and when all was calm we asked her what had frightened her so, say replied: 'the footsteps in the hallway had woken her, she had sat up bed, then a man in a black coat and hat entered the room, stood at the foot of the bed and stared at her, then reached out to her, thats when she screamed and then he just vanished.'
Needless to say we were shocked and searched the house, yard etc, all windows where locked and no-one had entered through the door....
The footsteps have been heard on regular basis since, but no one ever saw him again.

Really what is the differnce

I am sitting here looking at the picture of the week and thinking yep I totally get it.
What is the difference between a person who believes in UFO's, Aliens, Alien Abductions and all things which revolve around this subjects and a person who believes in an 'all powerful being, who creates the entire universe in 6 days, sculptured man out of clay and ash and woman out of one of his ribs, has magical powers, is immortal, can influence your every aspect of each persons lives and take control of it'.
Neither of these two beliefs can be proven, all we have is faith that Aliens exist and a reasonable idea of the Universe and its vastness and a 1500 yr old book which says this is what happened by the way it was mostly written several hundred after the events in which it speaks not eye witness accounts as most believe.
So what is the difference apart from Jesus and any and all Prophets who came and told us so..... I know a guy around the corner who tells me all about the aliens and what they have said about life the Universe and everything so in a way he too is a prophet.
Tell the real difference because all I can see at the moment is two seperate belief systems one which is excepted and one which is ridiqueled.

Someone Finally said what alot ask

I have posted this in spirit of free speech,
However I will say:
I do not agree or disagree with its content.
I have posted it more becasue it raises an interesting Question:
Why Is Racisim only for the white population because I have never heard of an ethinic person being charged with as a racist?
So do you agree or disagree with the points raised here and why?

Someone finally said it:

How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are Aboriginals, ,Torres Strait Islanders, Kiwis, Lebanese , Asians, Arabs, Boat People from all over the place., etc.
And then there are just Australians.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my Direction.
You Call me " Australian Dog", "White boy", "Cracker", "Skippy", "Whitey", "Caveman" . And that's OK.
But when I call you, Black Fella, Kiwi, Towel head, Sand-nigger, Sheep Shagger, Camel Jockey, Gook, or Chink, Wog, Curry Muncher. You call Me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the Housing Commission Estates the most dangerous places to Live?
You have the Aboriginal Schools. You have Sorry Day. You
Have Yom Hashoah, You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), .We'd be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day .. You would call us Racists.
If we had White Culture Month, we'd be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to"advance" OUR lives . We'd be racists.
If we had a University fund that only gave white Students scholarships.....
You know we'd be racists."White colleges" ..THAT would be a racist college. You can march for your race and rights.
If we marched for our Race and rights, You would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and Orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our White pride .You call us racists.
You rob us, bash our kids, steal from us, and shoot at us.
But, when a white police officer shoots a Muslim gang member or beats up a Lebanese Drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society,
You call him a racist.I am proud. But, you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?
Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on

China Olympics

Most people of the world have some idea of the issues surrounding Tibet and China, and the religious arguments which are at the centre of the conflict. However you choose to support or oppose this subject most of us take the ignore approach. The politicians do this because China has such a huge population, military and economic base to call upon and the governments don't like to upset the apple cart.
America and Australia with all their rhetoric for free speech, freedom of information, freedom of religion, etc, etc are the first to admit they have delicate trade agreements with China. This brings about the problem of conflict of interest. All China has to say and put forward is:'they will not allow trade and take their business elsewhere' and America and Australia back off. It is all well and good to shake your finger and say what a naughty country you are and you should not do this that and the other, but if you don't back it up with real action then what does it mean, "not much."
This latest press release from Yahoo News gives us one idea, boycott the Olympics, well yes that will work, but this brings about another issue should Politics and sport be intermingled. There needs to a clear and defining line between Politics, sport, religion, and yes Hollywood.
Public Figures I feel should and even have duty to play an active part in social issues around the world, after all with fame can come great power, however do you feel sporting events such as the Olympics should be used as a Political stick to beat over the heads of any country which does things we do not approve off or should they not gain the privilege of hosting the games in the first place?

Richard Gere urges Olympics boycott
Actor Richard Gere chases a fugitive Bosnian war criminal in his latest movie role, but in real life the devout Buddhist is pursuing China on human rights abuses and says a boycott of the Beijing Olympics could help.
Gere, chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet, told Reuters the 2008 Beijing Olympics were a good opportunity to encourage China to end human rights abuses in Tibet and allow the Himalayan region to decide its future.
Last month, thousands of Tibetans marched in New Delhi and New York calling for a boycott of the Beijing games.
"A general boycott to me certainly has value; it's probably impractical, but emotionally absolutely makes sense," Gere, 58, said. "Why should the world reward people who are obviously so bad to their own people, so bad to other people."
"In the same sense, encouragement is really important," he said in an interview to promote The Hunting Party opening in US theatres on Friday. "Not one country on this planet has got it all together, including the United States."

Is this the end... Do you beleive

In recent times we are being told these are the End Times and Armegeddon is around the corner. And I guess to some degrees they could be right: When the human race as a species are hell bent on killing each other, global warming appears to be like a organism in its death throws, viruses and illness designed to kill, illness resistant to treatment and the list goes......

A few hundred years ago people thought the signs where there when black death came and ran rampent throughout Europe but we did survive and continue.

But something tells me these days are different.....

I am curious to know what you think

Are we in the myst of Armegeddon?
Are the signs there for the End days?
And is there any hope to change the outcome?
If so would you?

How to stop Religious Extremism

Ok! this is a very simple plan it only involve religious groups any and all forms of religion not the Terrorism which is government based for the solution to How to Stop Terrorism please go to :
http://coillisionofthewilling.blogspot.com/

Otherwise please continue your journey here:

It seems that the rest of the problems within the world, stem one form or another from religion, not faith and this needs to be said.... it is not faith that is the problem, it is the religion. After all I have never heard a Tree Hugging New Age Spiritual Healer say believe what I tell you, my God is better than yours and if you don't believe in the new word I am telling you, 'I am going to tie you a tree and burn you alive,' have you.... you see the the Tree Hugging New Age Spiritual Healer has faith in what they believe but no religious doctrine to base it on.... there is no good book which gives instructions and which can be blamed....

So I propose in order solve all the Religious in fighting, the radical religious groups, the reborn religious movements, religious fundamentalism and any and all forms of religions:
be BANNED..... for crimes against the rest of us.

You see if I believe what I want and what feels right to me, and you believe in whats feels right to you, and your neighbours have there own belief which feels right to them although they may be different beliefs in various ways, there can be no uniform forms of worship, no book to blame, no one to be single out as heretic and no political gain......

The Vatican would have to release all of their treasures to the various museums, the wealth of the churches would be returned to people, the holy land disputes would no longer have an argument.

The argument of God gave us this land would no longer stand because whose god would that be.... God on our side would have the same problem.... this does not mean you could not have faith but it would allow you to have unpressureded faith in what you chose to believe without church groups, minority and majority religious organisations trying to manipulate political parties to suit their own needs.....

The law of the land would be a standard moral code based on morals and not religion.

Well what do you think?

Only a true friend could ....

'True' Friendship - None of that Sissy Crap

Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good,
But never actually come close to reality?
Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.
You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card-
Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship

1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against
The sorry bastard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could
be until you quit whining.
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well Again.
I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask;
'because you are my friend'.
Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it,
But only you can feel the true warmth.>>

A Little Helpful Advice

The mayonnaise jar & two cups of coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,

When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,

Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the Jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full..

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee From under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,

"I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favourite passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,

"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life......

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

"Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled.
"I'm glad you asked". It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

What if????

There is a question often possed by philosophy professors about the way we view the world. It goes something like this:

If the world of dreams was in actually the real world and our waking state was in reality the world of dreams?
How would you know the difference?

What do you think?
If you dream you are falling are you?

If you dream of winning the lottery did you really?

If you are chased by little green men were you?

The more you complain, the longer God lets you live

The way I drive, I've gotta have Faith!

I'm not lazy, I'm just practicing for the here-after

I’m an agnostic dyslexic insomniac that lies awake all night wondering if there really is a dog

Church in Politics

Should there be church and religion in Politics?

In Australia we are starting to see Pentecostal Churches taking an active roll in Government with both Parties lining up to show just how faithful they are.
The claims for this upsurge in faith based politics is much the same as in America, with family values being the main component.
Can we examine this a little further and give a open eye to the family value claim of churches, no denomination in particular.

1. Family orientated: In several christian faiths, require the priest to be celebrate, not married so as to dedicate their life to God and or the faith. Others segregate men and women and children while attending mass or pray. Some of these require women to be down graded in social standings and others require women not to be priest but nuns and also remain celebrate. Therefore their family experience in today's world is based on what they see and their upbringing not experience within there own which we all understands counts for alot.

2. Safe and Nurturing environment: The various faiths have long preached a safe environment in which children can be placed to learn the values instilled within the holy books all faiths follow.....
We are increasingly becoming aware of children being manipulated within these groups into hard line fanatics, each one taught to believe the other is evil..... Although the children within the groups appear safe from physical harm the mental issues as they grow are becoming more and evident.

3. Moral Standings: This is big, As anyone who has attended a church meeting would tell you. All Holy books are full of stories which give guidelines to live your life by. Having been to Sunday school and read a few of these books in my search, I must say the Ten Commandments and others to me are common sense.... we all understand you should kill someone, you shouldn't haven't an affair with someone Else's partner, you should treat people as you want to be treated etc.... these lessons have been around longer than any Holy book discovered so far.
The issue of moral values also comes into question in a big way with the allegation of child abuse by faithful members of most denominations....

4. Understand of differences: This one takes into account understanding towards.... cultural, Social, economic, gender, sexuality and general beliefs. So here goes:

Cultural: Most faiths regard there purpose while on earth as one of conversion. Converting people, societies and country into one united faith ... theirs....most faiths do not take into account the peoples cultural background. For evidence of these just look at the crusades, Inquisitions, and the Catholic - Prodestants battles of recent times.

Social: This one the faiths do seem to help with and several of the long recognised faiths doing a terrific job in helping those less fortunate.... in countries with extreme poverty they play a major part in helping the population.... however in the same countries the conversion rate in also quite high.

Economic: Apart from the faiths above there is a growing number of religious groups which hold money and its pursuit, high on their ladder with people from high economic backgrounds being sort after. These also preach that God wishes them to be rich, accumilating wealth is among his teaching, send money to the church to show your faith etc....
examples of these can be seen in everyday Evangelists, the Pentecostal Churches and various others.

Gender: Well in most faiths if your a male you seem to have more rights than if your female, your social standing and place within the group can be far more advanced if you a male.
A womens place is with the children and looking after her husbands needs.

Sexuality: There is in almost all faiths an intolerance to people who are homosexual. This seems to be an issue more based on fear than fact. The christian churches stance on this subject has been more than unsympathetic in all areas. In the other faiths you very rarely hear of the subject as it is frowned upon and punishments can be quite severe.
This form of intolerance in this day and age should be unheard off.

Given the fact that more people are pulling away from mainstream churches and religions is it relevant to have such groups penitrating our very government with their own views on how the rest should live our lives. I do feel the subjects of religion and politics should be kept quite separate, introduce religion into the political arena and you open a hornets nest of issues and problems which really shouldn't be there.

So given the above thoughts and understandings how can any government regardless of the country or the majority faith contemplate bringing any form of faith into politics.....
If a government is to be Fair and Just to all its people makes it impossible to be either fair just our importial this thought of this happening in any country should be to say the least a frightening prospect to all...
What if it isn't your faith that wins government.

Which God

Which God is the right God?

I thought I would try this praying thing everyone talks about.....you know 'I pray to God and he/she lifts my spirit and the worry goes away'

So after organising my thoughts and studying the how toos.....I sat myself down to try this strange task......

Then like a bolt from the blue (maybe God) the question came 'which God.?'

It was like a switchboard operator asking for the number to connect me too. So I hung up on the connection and pondered this:

'Do I want the Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Hindi, Penticostical, Baptist, Scientology, Greek Orthodox, Pagan Earth, New Age, Ancient Roman, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, Sun, moon or Universal God?'

As you can see there is quite a list of Gods through the ages so which one should I try to talk to.....

I ask a friend of mine they are spiritualist, the advice was 'which ever one feels right to you!' oh crap what a cop out, that is the problem I have no experience to base an opinion on......

So I ask you which God should I pray to......is there just one or should I pray to all of them and hedge my bets just in case...after all if the switchboard operator is really there none of them would ever know anyway would they?

Waiting to be Converted

Over the years I have found myself in a place of uncertainty. Wondering If there are so many reigions and beliefs in the world, How does someone work out which one is the true religion.

If God was the one and only true God and creator of all human kind, why do people believe have so many varied opinions of his word?

For example: christianity updated the bible from the Old Testament to the New Testament and then they edit out chapters which now seem inappropriate for our times, then they do the very things which in the bible it tells them not to do....Take the revivalist churches throughout southern states of America and also a few in Australia which sell all manner of religious tokens for rediculas prices in the name God...I do remember reading in this book 'do not worship false idles' or something along those lines yet the very people preaching to the believers about the good news are the very people selling them falsehoods, not to mention the money is the root of evil clause in there, how rich is the catholic church......and the vatican on its own....

but christians are not the only religion which to an outsider has a double standard of do as say not as I do attitude......all around the world we see it....in all the mainstream religions judaism, islam, hindu, budhism, new age, paganism, spirituality...... yes everywhere....

I have found contradiction after contradiction.....so I have decided to see start a blog and get you the people who believe in something to tell me why.....what makes your religion your beliefs the one right way....why with your belief will you go to a better place than your neighbour....and how why if I take on what you believe will I be saved....If there is one true religion outthere which does not contridict itself, have a double standard, treat one gender, race, age better than another I really want to know.....

So people of the internet here I am convert me know and get to that better place knowing you have saved a soul along the way
