Which God

Which God is the right God?

I thought I would try this praying thing everyone talks about.....you know 'I pray to God and he/she lifts my spirit and the worry goes away'

So after organising my thoughts and studying the how toos.....I sat myself down to try this strange task......

Then like a bolt from the blue (maybe God) the question came 'which God.?'

It was like a switchboard operator asking for the number to connect me too. So I hung up on the connection and pondered this:

'Do I want the Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, Hindi, Penticostical, Baptist, Scientology, Greek Orthodox, Pagan Earth, New Age, Ancient Roman, Ancient Greek, Ancient Egyptian, Sun, moon or Universal God?'

As you can see there is quite a list of Gods through the ages so which one should I try to talk to.....

I ask a friend of mine they are spiritualist, the advice was 'which ever one feels right to you!' oh crap what a cop out, that is the problem I have no experience to base an opinion on......

So I ask you which God should I pray to......is there just one or should I pray to all of them and hedge my bets just in case...after all if the switchboard operator is really there none of them would ever know anyway would they?

There is one God....it's very simple. The vast majority of the world worship the same God...whether they call him Allah, Yahweh,God, Ah-Rahim,The Great Father,The great spirit....it's the same God. One God....that's it. Blessings~jackie

Oh yes your labels refer to religions....religion is not God...religion is man made. God is God. Once again I ask you to tread carefully....you are tempting God to prove himself to you....that can be a very dangerous thing to do.By the way come drop in my site tom. I got moved to post concerning animals of all things...~blessings little cynic~jackie

I see you have asked “Which God Is God?” Let me say first, “There are only two, the Father and Son. But in the beginning they were called God—Elohim.

Let us take a look at this in Genesis 1: 26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
It says, Let us make man in our image. Well, this certainly sounds like more than one.

Now look at John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
It says in the beginning there is the Word and God. The Word being, the Son and God, the Father. But they are both God, two distinct individuals.

To really understand this you must have knowledge of the Holy, the Godhead. Jesus is the Father and Jehovah is the Word that became the Son. So you ask which God to pray to?

Well, Jesus tells us to pray to the Father in Matthew 6:9 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

This is the answer that He gave to the Disciples, when asked, “How should we pray, Luke 11: 1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."
As you see, Jesus said pray to the Father (Jesus). Not Budda, Allah or any other so-called god. So pray to Jesus—the Father God, which no man has ever seen.
John 1: 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. Only the son (Jehovah) has seen Him.

Jesus tells us that God—the Father has never been seen nor heard, John 5: 37 "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.

Yet Moses and seventy-three Elders of Israel saw God, Exodus 24: 1 Now He said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar., 9 Then Moses went up, also Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10 and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity. 11 But on the nobles of the children of Israel He did not lay His hand. So they saw God, and they ate and drank. So if no man has seen God –the Father at any time, who did Moses and the Elders see?

Turn to 1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. You see that it was Christ in the wilderness with them.

But what was His name at that time? Turn to Exodus 6:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. 2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them., and you see that God Almighty tells Moses His name is Jehovah.

Isaiah 12: 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. , tells us Jehovah has become our Salvation.

Well you ask, “How is that possible if Jesus is our Salvation? Let’s take a look and see what the Lord has to say in Hebrews 10: 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: A body was prepared for Him. In Philippians 2: 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father., we read that when He was God (in the form of God) He was equal to God—the Father. But He became a man and was given a name that is above every name. The Lord—Jehovah says, in Jeremiah 15: 16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts., that He would be called by the Lord God’s name.

Jesus also tells you in John 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. that the scriptures testify of Him and that He comes in the Father’s name—Jesus. There is so much more to show you through the Scriptures.

So when did Jehovah become our Salvation? When He became flesh and blood born of a virgin, Luke 1: 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end, and died on the cross as our Savior. Acts 4: 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Now He has become our Intercessor, Hebrews 9: 11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;, 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:. So you see you pray to God the Father, and Jesus will make intercession for us if we have kept His commandments.

There is so much more on the Godhead in the Scriptures and how They work together in the Godhead. So, you ask “Which God to Pray to?” The Father—Jesus, who is in heaven.

Now, I will ask you, what other God had died for your sins and offers you life eternal, if you keep His commandments?

In answer to your question:
Which God Do I Pray To: Jesus the Unknown God.

Acts 17: 16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. 17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him. 18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. 19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? 20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean. 21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) 22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Peace to you
